I use this in my '08 BMW X3 because the aux jack is in a poorly designed location and it keeps getting broken. This splitter puts the plug on the side and actually protects the jack built into the car. I've also used this as a true iPod splitter and it works great that way too.

Mace CAM81C Color Camera in Non-Operating Smoke Detector Review

Mace is a worldwide leader in security and has been for over 17 years. The Mace CAM-81C is a Color Smoke Detector Camera. It is ideal for indoor use throughout an office or home, as well as for use as a spy cam against intruders, baby sitters, etc. The camera has a 1/4 CCD Sharp and 420 TV lines. 1/4 CCD Sharp 1 Lux 3.6 mm Lens 420 TV Lines Power Supply: DC 12V
The Mace CAM81C Color Camera in Non-Operating Smoke Detector is a high-quality surveillance camera that can be hidden in plain site. Easily installed and integrated into any Mace surveillance system, this hidden camera appears to observers as a regular smoke detector, allowing you to monitor a room discreetly.
This camera utilizes a 0.25-inch color Sharp CCD (charge-coupled device) image sensor, with 270,000 effective pixels. Constructed with a standard 3.6-millimeter fixed lens, the Mace CAM81C has a high resolution of 420 horizontal TVL (TV lines), and achieves a S/N (signal-to-noise) ratio of 45 dB or better. This unit operates on the NTSC signal format, and is decent in low-light conditions with a minimum illumination of one Lux in color. The CAM81C uses a standard video output, and runs on 12-volts of DC power. The CAM81C comes complete with a built-in automatic electronic shutter with speeds ranging from 1/50 to 1/100,000 of a second.
Technical Features:
- Lens: 3.6 millimeter fixed
- S/N ratio: better than 45 dB
- Sensitivity: 1 Lux in color
- Horizontal resolution: 420 TVL
About Surveillance Camera Technical Features
Lux rating is the measurement used to indicate how sensitive a camera is to light, and stands for the level of light reflected off a piece of paper by a candle from one meter away. Thus a sensitivity of three Lux would mean a camera could generate an acceptable picture of a piece-of-paper-sized object that was illuminated by the equivalent of three candles from one meter away. The lower the Lux level, the better the camera's ability to work in low-light conditions. The camera's resolution should be greater than or equal to the resolution supported by the system's recorder or monitor. The S/N, or signal to noise ratio, is an important measure of a camera's quality. A poor camera, low-light conditions or poor wiring causes "noise" which consumes processing power and disk space. A camera with a wide dynamic range is ideal, especially for recording areas in which both indoor and outdoor light are present. CCD (charge-coupled device) sensors provide high-quality images that are less susceptible to noise. CMOS (complimentary metal-oxide semiconductor) sensors offer less image quality, but are usually more cost-effective and energy efficient.

Macally USB Slim Keyboard - ICEKEY Review

When I first received my Macally Keyboard, I really loved the slimness, and the whole look of it. The keyboard was very ergonomically fit, and very easy to use. The keyboard would have been a five out of five, until I came to the four top right keys on the keyboard: Min sound, Max sound, Mute sound, and Eject button. All four of these keys were, at first, unresponsive. This really pissed me off, so I looked it up online. One of the websites that I found brought me to a driver that I should download to fix the problem. I downloaded the driver, and the four keys began to work. Though the issue took some time to fix, it worked. Now the keyboard works perfectly.

Macally ICECASEP Protective Clear Case With Removable Stand (Clear) Review

Macally PHR-100AF FireWire External Enclosure (IEEE 1394a) Review

The rubber mounts in the PHR-100 reduce noise and vibration and provide shock protection. The external power supply would be easy to replace and keeps its heat out of the enclosure.
It concerned me that the enclosure has no fan. I taped a thermometer probe to the metal cover of my Hitachi drive before closing the Macally box. As I copied 250,000 files, the temperature rose to 43 C. Idling, the drive rose to about the same temperature. Hitachi says this drive uses 4.9 W idling, so any drive that idled at about 5 watts would probably have a maximum temperature about 20 C above room temperature in this enclosure.
Last year's Google study found that drives that averaged 36 - 46 C had a failure rate of only 1%, while the rate at 20 C was 8%. In other words, if the enclosure had a fan my drive would be more likely to fail.
Shock mounts, good operating temperature, external power supply, quiet operation: I like it! The PHR-100AF works as a boot drive for my Mac.

Macally USB Optical Mini Mouse White ( ICEMINI ) Review

This little mouse seems to work just fine. I've been using it for a little over a month and bought it to replace the Mighty Mouse that came with my Mac. I like that the buttons and scroll wheel are all programmable. It is smaller than a regular mouse. Not a problem for my small hands, but I can see how it could be for a large-handed person. I also like that it's white.
A couple of things I don't like about this mouse: It doesn't move smoothly across the screen, and even when I slow down the tracking speed, it's a bit jerky. Also, the buttons click VERY easily, so I'm constantly accidently highlighting words on the screen or clicking on links that I don't mean to.
Overall, though, this is is a good mouse and does the job for a great price.

Macally Protective Leather Case for iPhone 3G, 3G S (Black) Review

I bought the Macally mCase a year ago when I first got my iPhone 3G. I put on a front and back protective film from Best Skins Ever onto the phone and then shoved it into this leather hard case. I've taken it out only about four times in the past year to clean the phone, and I've been pretty happy.
First thing to note is the case makes the phone a lot more bulky. I don't mind this, and I'm guessing that anyone in the market for a leather case is either looking more for looks or durability than sleekness so this might not be an issue for others either.
I do like the way this case looks, and it protects the phone very well. All the corners are protected well unlike some other leather case options that I've seen. I've dropped my phone a few times inside buildings and even on the sidewalk. My phone (and case) survived without a scratch. The leather exterior on this case has held up very well.
It's a tight fit to get your phone into the case. This is good because the design covers a lot of your phone (protection), and your phone will never have a chance to come out unintentionally. This is bad because you'll end up with pinched fingers the first time, and you might scratch your phone getting it into the case. As I said, I have a skin all around the phone. I have scratch marks in the skin on the back of the phone, and I don't care... but if I had scratched my phone getting it into the case, I'd be pretty upset.
The leather and the fabric lining are of nice quality. My leather has always looked at felt like leather and it's not been rubbery at all. After a year, though, the adhesives in the case have begun to let go. After about 8 months, I noticed that the leather was stretching out or had lost adhesion from the back side of the case. It's like there's a bubble of loose leather on the large back area. It's more noticeable when it's humid. I also took the phone out of the case last night, and I noticed that the inner lining has lost adhesion to the case under the front button on the iPhone.
The case is less than $20, it lasted a year, it looks good, and it has protected my phone well. The skin on the phone needs replacing, and I want a new case at the same time. I do like the look, feel and protection of a leather case, so I spent time looking for a leather replacement. I'm now at the end of my search... and I'm buying another Macally mCase.

Macally BELLAP Protective Leather Case for iPhone 3G, 3G S (Black) Review

I thought this was such a great idea, and it works. I am able to clip my iPhone to my briefcase, handbag and jeans belt loop. It is very easy to find that way and I always have it on me. Unfortunately, the loop that the carabiner clip hooks to pulled out of the softer neoprene case after only 3 months. I nearly lost my phone. I reported this to the manufacturer in an attempt to exercise the warranty and never got any response at all. Too bad as this product was well made otherwise.

Macally Mirror Finish Screen Protective Case for iPhone 3G, 3G S (Clear) Review

The mirror finish is convenient, you have a free clear perfect mirror to use when needed, my wife love it. Problem is that fingerprints do show quite a bit. In low light it works great. I do not use it my iPhone outside in sun light that much anyway. Things will look almost 3 Dimentional and rainbowish while tilting it which makes it look cool and games look much colorful that way, I like that new rainbowish cool look of my iphone screen. It is neat. Hard for others to peek at your private stuff, too.

Macally IVOICEPRO Voice and Audio Recorder for iPod (Silver) Review

I purchased this item primarily to use with a 1st Gen iPod Touch & Skype. I am happy to report that it works perfectly in this application. I simply updated my Touch to at V2.2 software from iTunes, and the micropone works exactly as advertised. It even has a small speaker built in, so you don't have to plug in earbuds - the sound is a bit tinny, but perfectly intelligble.
I have also used it with a couple of other applications using a microphone (e.g., voice recorder), and it works perfectly there also. The only problem I've run into is that some of the applications on the App Store are too smart for their own good, and won't let you install on the 1st Gen Touch because they don't think it can have a microphone. Hopefully, if enough of us send them e-mail, they'll stop trying to be so smart.
It also includes USB cable that plugs into the mike so you can charge while you use it, and, you can plug in an external microphone if you wish. MaCally has done a superb job on this - I can't think of anything I would change in the design.
I highly recommend this product - it completely solves the no microphone problem for 1st Gen iPod Touch users.

I assumed all tape adapters were comparable. This one worked fine for 1 week. Then it sporadically ejected itself from the tap deck. This was easy to set up and it gave a clear picture during the day and at night. The range is pretty bad; it says 100' indoors but I found it to be more like 50'.
